Del Sol

Del Sol depicts a quiet, elemental moment: a mother and child beside a stream, held within a cavern sculpted by time. Illuminated by a soft shaft of sunlight, the figures rest in stillness – surrounded by mineral-rich walls that shimmer with earthy tones and gilded highlights. The surface is layered with texture and movement – inviting the viewer to explore patterns that evoke geodes, sediment, and ancient formations. Veins of turquoise, ochre, and gold create a tactile richness, suggesting the slow accumulation of memory, meaning, and natural beauty.

The title Del Sol – “of the sun” – carries a dual resonance: it references both the literal sunlight that enters the cave and the symbolic light embodied by the child. At the heart of this piece is a quiet relationship: protective, enduring, and radiant in its simplicity.

This work is both landscape and offering – an invitation into a timeless space where life’s essentials converge. A piece about presence, connection, and the light we hold for one another.
